Concrete manholes have long been used as the standard solution in infrastructure projects. However, two alternatives have emerged that offer significantly better advantages: BMC (Bulk Molding Compound) and cast iron. These materials are starting to replace concrete's dominance due to their superior durability, design flexibility, and safety.

Weaknesses of Concrete Manholes

Concrete is indeed cheaper and more readily available, but its lifespan is relatively short. It tends to crack or break easily, especially in areas exposed to high pressure or extreme weather. BMC manholes are made from a mixture of resin, recycled fiberglass, sand, inorganic fillers, and other additives. The production process includes design creation, mold preparation, material mixing, hot pressing, and strict quality control. The result is a product that is lightweight yet strong, resistant to heat, corrosion, and impact.

BMC also offers advantages in terms of safety, since it has no resale value as scrap, the risk of theft is very low. Its design can be customized to meet project requirements, including the addition of company logos or specific surface patterns. With long-term durability and customizable appearance, BMC is an ideal choice, especially in areas prone to theft.
